secrets
Dance performance
In her new site-specific performance secrets, Elena Francalanci wanders between dreams and memories hidden within the landscape of Sommerbad Humboldthain. In an endless game of hide-and-seek, secrets emerge as parasitic entities – growing slowly, taking hold of her recollections, and blurring the boundary between fiction and reality. The investigation begins with the idea that every memory holds, in some way, a secret: an unspoken truth, an omitted detail, an alternate version of events. Moving through sun-dappled clearings and tangled paths, Francalanci searches for the hidden fragments of the past – half-remembered dreams, buried emotions. Over the course of the performance, Francalanci moves between text, gesture, and song, drawing on a personal playlist of indie pop as emotional cues. The performance secrets unfolds like a lucid dream – slippery and surreal – where meaning is in constant motion and memory shifts beneath the surface.

About the artists
SUNDAYS
Since 2023, Dorothee Brübach, Maximilian Flachsenberg, Ramona Kortyka, Anders Prey, and David Wassermann have been collaborating on the project SUNDAYS. This interactive exhibition format temporarily transforms spaces dedicated to art and culture into sculptural mini-golf courses. For each new season, the concept is adapted to the specific exhibition site. SUNDAYS has been presented in Kiel (DE) and at Frappant Galerie in Hamburg (DE).

Elena Francalanci
Elena Francalanci (she|her) (1994) is an Italian artist and choreographer based in Berlin. She studied classical ballet and modern dance at Balletto di Toscana in Florence and began her professional career with dance companies and theatre productions such as Balletto Teatro di Torino, Festspielhaus St. Pölten, and TanzQuartier Vienna. In the past eight years, she has worked as a freelancer, connecting her experience in theatre with visual art. As an Italian artist and dance maker, Francalanci’s work is rooted in her background in classical ballet and postmodern dance, which she intertwines with the visual arts. She is drawn to the exploration of in-between states, seeking to challenge established norms and foster a feminist perspective. Her practice explores gestures tied to specific spaces and moments, investigating how expected actions can be decontextualized within a given setting. Drawing from her experiences in dance theatre and music composition, she incorporates text and theatrical elements into her work. Her approach often begins with personal histories – sometimes biographical – and mirrors her performances, combining classical elements with contemporary references, including nods to pop culture.
Her work has been shown at Silent Green (2025, DE), CTM-Vorspiel (2024, DE), Traklhaus Salzburg (2024, AUT), Schaubühne Lindenfels Leipzig (2023, DE), Kleine Humboldt Galerie (2023, DE), Garage Gallery Prague (2023, CZ), and other venues. From 2023, Elena has been the co-founder, curator, and producer of the gallery space MOLT, Berlin (DE).
