This sports class combines the discipline of boxing with practical self-defence techniques to empower pool visitors. Designed for everyone, the course aims to build physical strength, mental resilience, and self-confidence. Participants will learn basic boxing moves, self-defence strategies, and the importance of situational awareness. Together, we will safely push our boundaries and develop skills to protect ourselves and our communities.

 

 

 

About the curators

PLAYBABE is a non-profit organisation that raises money for feminist causes through the production of calendars and charity events. The project was founded in 2022 by Lucy Owen Jones and Aurélia Majean.
The aim of PLAYBABE is to raise funds for feminist organisations by producing an annual calendar with twelve empowering photographs of women. The project is strongly inspired by erotic calendars and aims to reclaim power over the cultural representation of women. The PLAYBABES are at the heart of the project, ensuring that each image is the result of a mutual dialogue about how the women want to be represented and what elements of their empowerment are important. The project is characterised by sisterhood, as the calendar is sold to raise money for the chosen organisation. Each year a different organisation is supported that deals with a specific topic. To further contribute to the mission, fundraising events are organised and merchandise is offered in addition to the calendar.

 

About the instructor 

Boxgirls Berlin e.V. inspires and supports girls* and women* to engage actively and boldly in their communities. Through boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing training, they challenge patriarchal norms, strengthen themselves physically and mentally, and apply their in-ring skills to daily life. A diverse, DOSB-certified coaching team provides rigorous training and promotes individual progress. In addition to regular training, there are programs on sexism, violence prevention, bullying, gender diversity, and discrimination. Boxgirls Berlin creates inclusive spaces for empowerment and equal opportunities.
