Hervé Humbert has designed a modular structure made of elements used for scaffoldings for the terrace of Tropez that can serve as a stage or a seating. Scène ouverte transforms the scaffold, that is normally used for construction and renovation into a piece of architecture itself. In his sculptures and installations, Humbert observes the aura of design. His works are intended variations of design classics and icons of daily life. Through simple interventions, like the powder coating of the steel bars in this case, he shifts the relation between an object of design and utility towards a sculpture.
