The series Four Drawings for Imbiss are an extract of some one hundred similar works from the past months. John Matthew Heard uses oil pastels on Din A4 paper sheets. Heard has chosen this series for POOL since they reflect topics he has also observed at Humboldthain: Posing, (sceptical) observing, relaxing and the joy of being in the water. In his numerous drawings or rather sketches, he captures episodes and portraits of people in their daily life. He is interested in the immediacy of the medium. Hanging on the tiled wall of the kiosk, the drawings are only visible to those being next in the line of may hungry guest waiting to place their order.
