Zoë Claire Miller’s installation The Pearl Is the Oyster’s Autobiography anticipates being touched. The sight of it, but even more the feel of the sea of slick pearls trigger positive emotions and visualise the close connection of our senses and the psyche. Important ideas in Miller’s sculpures and installations are feminism, animism, techno- fetishism and interspecies communication. Miller discovered the Aquapearls, sold as decorational material in shops, while researching the topics of female masturbation and collaborative dislimitation in preparation of the exhibition Manual Override (2016).
