mixed media sound installation
The work of Jan Vorisek adds another level to TROPEZ. For VOYAGE the artist has developed a four-part installation that permeates the exhibition space with a soundtrack and depicts sound. The acoustic images are a score in which spiral shapes, neon colours and mirror films take the place of notes. Besides sculpture, installation, and performance Vorisek’s artistic practice includes improvised music and noise. He is particularly interested in the intersection of material and sound as an information carrier which – unlike a picture – does not try to reduce the world to its surface. Vorisek forms his own classification systems in which he summarizes previously disassembled objects and findings. The score of Slippery Ecstasy, Ghost Parade Unit, Scatter Index and Going Until Gone points to his performance Radiators in the Sky which Vorisek will present the 4th of August.
