Open dance class led by Tanja Saban, 90 min, invited by Clara Meister and Clare Molloy.

Artists Ruth Buchanan and Christian Naujoks share an interest in the interplay of language, sound, the body, and movement, and particularly the way the boundaries between these spheres produce a complex sense of presence that is both staunch, fragile, intimate, and raw. For TROPEZ Buchanan and Naujoks explore this further by inviting dancer and dance teacher Tanja Saban to give a Gaga class at the pool for all visitors to participate. Gaga is a movement language that focuses on the tension between the micro and macro and on inhabiting the space of movement together. At TROPEZ, Saban will facilitate the movements of the participants by offering somatic and cerebral triggers, by suggesting imagery, offering single words, and occasional direction.

Together, Buchanan, Naujoks and Saban create an unconstrained movement landscape, a situation into which participants can dive deeply and invite all swimmers, lovers, dancers, listeners, and sweaters to join this open invitation to dance together.
