From the many performances, operas and concerts of the music theater collective HAUEN & STECHEN some remains and memories have got inevitably stuck. In a small series of aperitivo music, such remnants are collected and also scattered again: "music for a while"...
Gina Lisa Maiwald and Angela Braun, two formative protagonists of the collective, sing dramatic chansons and duets accompanied by Roman Lemberg. Reveries, accusations, prophecies from the cellar of the Grand Opéra.
Gina-Lisa Maiwald studied at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Art Ernst Busch. Since 2009 she has been working as a freelance actress for theater and film productions. In 2010 she published her own texts for the first time in collaboration with the space and sound artist Vera Pulido in her performance Look of love! Since 2012, her collaboration with HAUEN & STECHEN has been the focus of her work. She has been involved in most of the collective's productions and has helped shape its theatrical language as an actress and performer: for example, in Lulu/Nana, Cazza Ragazza - Pucchini's Last Song, Luft, Luft mir erstickt das Herz and Fidelio at the Sophiensæle in Berlin. At the Neuköllner Oper Berlin she appeared in Elektra and Die Fledermaus. She also appeared in Othmar's Ghost House (Brunnen/CH) and Notre Carmen (Théâtre de l'Athénée Paris and Sophiensæle Berlin). In 2018 she performed in the production Das Floß at the opera stabile of the Hamburg State Opera and at the Bavarian State Opera in Zeig mir deine Wunder after N. Rimsky-Korsakov's Snegurotschka. In 2019, she was part of the productions The Whale Whale Song at Volksbühne Berlin and Kitesh at Theater Halle. In Halle, she also appeared in Julia Lwowski's La Traviata. In the 2020/2021 season, she will perform at the Stuttgart State Opera in Paul Dessau's The Condemnation of Lucullus.
Angela Braun works diversely between classical music theater, performance and spoken theater. Engagements have taken her to the Bavarian State Opera, the Theater Ulm, the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper, the Volksbühne, the Radialsystem Berlin, the Sophiensaele Berlin, the HAU, the Neuköllner Oper, the Nibelungenfestspiele Worms and the Théâtre de l'Athénée Paris. In 2020 Angela Braun made a guest appearance at the Staatsschauspiel Hannover and debuted as a film actress in the ARD production Louis van Beethoven (director: Niki Stein). She has been working closely with HAUEN & STECHEN since her vocal studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music (with Christine Schäfer and Julia Varady, among others). She has been involved in numerous productions of the collective as a singer, performer and occasionally as a violinist, including Notre Carmen, Rot(z), Sturm, Snegurotschka, Cazza Ragazza, Whale whale song and Kitesh in the series NOperas!
