Amala Dianor's performance Wo-Man combines elements of hip-hop with contemporary and African dance. It is the further development of his well-known solo Man Rec, which has already been seen more than a hundred times around the world. Inspired by the pulsating energy of dancer and student of Dianor, Nangaline Gomis, the choreographer began to transfer his movement into another body, to rework and reinvent the work. The solo thus represents a kind of re-creation of the body. Dianor sets out his hybrid, almost magical movement vocabulary, deceptively simple yet complex, abstract yet driven, energetic yet calm. "Man" means "me" in Wolof. "Man Rec" means "only me". "Wo-Man" would be the female version of this choral "I", filled with different influences and cultures.
The TROPEZ brings Wo-Man to a Berlin stage for the first time - in the middle of the summer pool.
