Trust: Collective Bodies - Melon
Legal and technical approaches to organizing are limited in their capacity to build worlds. Trust embarks on a new quest to anatomize, examine, dissect and assemble collective bodies. Join Trust for a peek into Collective Bodies, a narrative arc featuring monsters, chimeras and the metaphors we organize with.
A collective body is a chimera of organs and entanglements that move beyond the limits of legal and technical approaches to organizing. The melon is an organ found in the forehead of whales that facilitates communication and echolocation by modulating the animal’s vocalizations.
This month Trust imagines this sonic lens as standing in for extra-sensory perception and long distance communication, especially as it relates to community maintenance on the Trust Discord server. As omage to the melon, Trust will do a sonic tour of animal vocalizations - a multispecies exercise designed to temporarily dislodge our human bias and increase empathy towards Earth’s fauna.
Trust is a network of utopian conspirators, a sandbox for their creative, technical and critical projects, and a site of experimentation for new ways of learning together.
Jasia Rabiej: Jśa presents Ear Star
Ear Star is named after a track from Jśa’s to be announced EP. The new material is filled with vocal chops used as percussions and instruments, soft melodies for overdriven synths, and dreamy, emotional chord progressions juxtaposed with rowdy drum arrangements. The songs explore themes of fame, love, and the balance between realizing and squandering potential. Samples from Polish underground hip-hop and viral TikTok audio are used alongside tracks from previous releases and unreleased gems. The visuals, crafted from chopped and screwed personal videos recorded over the past emphasize the intimate essence of Jśa's music.
Jasia Rabiej is a Polish musician and visual artist currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. Her first solo exhibition opened in September this year at Scherben in Berlin. She released her debut album Enter My House as Jśa in 2021 with Shanghai based label Genome 6.66 bpm. It was followed by self-released EP Final Spin in 2022.
