Bubbles is a playful exploration on how to communicate with each other underwater. The title takes its name from the children’s game of trying to guess what is said while submerged, when bubbles bubble out of the mouth of the speaker instead of words. It was developed in a one-week hip-hop and theater workshop on the challenges of intercultural exchange. Guided by musician Abdoul Kader Traoré and theater pedagogue Fanny Zihlmann, the participating children explored different ways of communicating without words.

The workshop was initiated and supported by Christoph Schlingensief's Operndorf Afrika that invited the Burkinabe rapper, producer and actor Traoré. Together with the pupils in Burkina Faso, the Operndorf Afrika had also developed a soundwalk for TROPEZ.
