000 will be created in response to Shasti’s Ghosts (2023) and Cru Encarnação’s LEGERDEMAIN (2024) from Tropez summers past, considering the tension, overlap, and blur between stage magic and “real” magic.
OOO is a common acronym in English that means both “Out Of Office” And “Object Oriented Ontology.” Its common typo 000 is called an “Angel Number,” signifying blank slates and new beginnings. In computer software, 000 can indicate a communication failure or reset of the system. In many countries, 000 is the number to dial in an emergency.
In this new improvisational performance, weirdo clown artist Alex Tatarsky and experimental electronic musician Shane Riley will consider the haunting of spirit in matter and the void as a site of magical possibility. An attempt to be possessed rather than possess, delight in failure and mess, and enjoy summer vacation. We hope this email never finds you.
About the artists
Alex Tatarsky, born in 1989, lives and works in New York and Philadelphia (USA). Tatarsky’s performances lie at the intersection of comedy, dance theatre, performance art and improvised speech, often complemented by music. Their works combine humour, theatrical transformation and improvisation, navigating the boundaries between absurdity, fiction and reality. Their work has recently been shown at venues including MoMA PS1 (New York, USA), the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York, USA), The Kitchen (New York, USA), Gibney Dance (New York, USA), La MaMa (New York, USA) and Jacob’s Pillow (Becket, USA).
