At the center of their installation at TROPEZ is the result of the Camp Solong counselors’ personal dirt: Two inverted holes previously dug on the swimming pool lawn slowly revolve together on a soft bed-like structure, next to Attention Excavation (2021), a construction sign marking the process of their eternal digging.

Instructional video
In the video Losing Weight (2021), camp counselors Fluffy and Baloo guide the viewer through the steps of digging a hole in the ground. The activity demonstrates how to lighten one's emotional load through a hands-on process of digging and releasing.
About the artists
Camp Solong is an ongoing collaboration founded in 2016 by Dafna Maimon & Ethan Hayes-Chute. Taking the form of a summer camp for adults, the nomadic mini-institution offers an intense program of introspective, in-depth, and playful activities, centered around the act of saying goodbye. To date, Camp Solong has taken place in Germany, Finland, the US, and Switzerland.
